Plant Utah internships are designed for men and women who want to grow as disciples of Jesus while actively participating in the mission of planting healthy, missional churches. Our internships combine hands-on ministry experience, intentional discipleship, and practical skill development in real ministry contexts across Utah.

Most internships are part-time and function as a hybrid between an internship and a missions experience. Interns are invited to raise support or work part-time while serving, and we work to help accommodate housing when possible. Whether you are exploring a call to ministry, developing practical skills, or taking a next step of obedience, our internships offer a meaningful way to join what God is doing through Plant Utah.

Media & Storytelling Intern

Internship Description

Plant Utah is offering a summer or long-term Video Storytelling & Media Internship for a creative, mission-minded individual who wants to use media to help make disciples and multiply the church.

This intern will help capture and tell the stories of people who are becoming disciples of Jesus and learning to make disciples of Jesus. Through video, photography, and social media content, the intern will play a key role in communicating what God is doing through Plant Utah across communities, relationships, and local churches.

This role focuses on capturing and telling real stories of transformation—people encountering Jesus, growing as disciples, and making disciples in everyday life. It includes filming events, gathering interviews and b-roll for future projects, editing short- and long-form video content, and helping manage social media posting. The internship is part-time and is designed as a hybrid experience—combining hands-on ministry, skill development, and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Film and edit short- and long-form videos that tell disciple-making stories
  • Capture video, interviews, and b-roll at events, trainings, and gatherings
  • Assist with content creation for social media platforms (Reels, Shorts, etc.)
  • Organize and manage media assets for future use
  • Collaborate with Plant Utah leaders to plan and execute storytelling projects
  • Grow in disciple-making, leadership, and ministry involvement while serving

What This Internship Is (and Is Not)

This is a part-time, ministry-based internship rather than a traditional full-time paid position.

  • Compensation is limited, and interns are expected to raise some support and/or work a part-time job during their time with Plant Utah
  • We work to help accommodate housing when possible
  • This internship functions as a missions experience, offering spiritual formation, real ministry involvement, and practical media experience
  • Ideal for students, recent graduates, or creatives discerning long-term ministry or missions involvement
