All About Utah!
Acts 1:8 Strategy
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8
Spanish Fork
We’re obviously all about Utah! That being said, we have an Acts 1:8 mindset in reaching this state and the world. Spanish Fork, UT is our initial target city; it’s our Jerusalem. From here we are planting multiple churches throughout the city. As these new church communities form they will begin partnering with other churches in Utah and across the nation to plant new churches in surrounding cities.
Utah County
Utah County, UT is our “Judea”. This county is home to well over half a million people and less than 1% claim to be evangelical Christians. Here you’ll find Brigham Young University and the LDS Missionary Training Center, making it the world center of Mormonism. We will repeat the same process of making disciples and planting churches in neighborhoods within other cities across Utah County.
Utah
There are numerous cities throughout Utah with few or no evangelical Christian churches. The Wasatch front alone is home to more than two million people offering an unprecedented opportunity for the gospel. As the Lord provides networks, planters and direction, we hope to make a gospel impact across the entire state.
Polygamous Communities
Utah has at least eleven different polygamous groups and communities. This is our Samaria. Some of these groups are only a few hundred people in number, while others number in the thousands. Some live in isolated communities and others are scattered amongst the population. These groups are not accepted by the LDS church as being legitimate “Mormons” even though they tend to more closely follow fundamental Mormon teachings. We love these people and will continue to build relationships and create opportunities to reach these communities.
The Ends of the Earth
As disciples are being made in Utah, we pray that many will understand and fulfill the calling to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
